Hey everyone, just wanted to share a quick devotional with you today from “Jesus Calling”.
Too many times we try to please others and worry about their views and opinions of us. Instead, we should care deeply about how God, our Creator, views us.
Beware of seeing yourself through other people’s eyes. There are many dangers that stem from viewing yourself from the perspective of others. It’s impossible to know what others actually think of you. Their views of you are variable: subject to each viewers spiritual, emotional, and physical condition. The major problem with letting others define you is that it increases your concern to please others and decreases your desire to please your Creator.
It is much more real to see yourself through God’s eyes. His gaze upon you is steady and sure, untainted by sin. Through His eyes you can see yourself as one who is deeply and eternally loved. Rest in God’s loving Presence and you will receive deep Peace.
