Dear Partners & Friends,
The final members of our Brazil team returned home today from Curitiba. Their journey home was unexpectedly long due to flight cancellations at JFK, ironically over rain that never materialized, but everyone made it safely.
Two Weeks of Ministry in Curitiba
Over two weeks, the team conducted:
- Evangelism Trainings
- Door to Door Evangelism
- Children’s Outreaches
- Construction Projects
- Oversight of the early stages of our Discipleship Group planting
We had hoped to plant five groups but due to logistical challenges, we established three potential Discipleship Groups in homes across the communities we were targeting.
Discipleship Groups: Our First Meeting
We held our very first Discipleship Meeting during the trip. The homeowner was led to the Lord during our time there and graciously offered her daycare center to host the group.
The plan is for the group to meet weekly for approximately three months, after which they will decide as a group to either:
- Join the local mother church, or
- Continue as a house church
This could very well be the first meeting of a new local church, one we hope to build a building for one day.
Children’s Outreach
Cristen and Brazilian Children’s Minister Vanessa led Children’s Outreaches. A special thank you to Vanessa for her outstanding support and for providing translators for the team!
Construction Projects
Our construction team accomplished an incredible amount:
- Two roofs
- A large cement walkway for a family in need
- A bathroom repair

Thank you to the entire team for investing in Brazil, for helping plant three potential Discipleship Groups, and for blessing unsaved families through these construction projects. One of these families already attended a discipleship meeting, glory to God! We are trusting God to see these groups grow into thriving churches.
Prayer Request: A Part-Time Brazilian Missionary
Please agree with us in prayer as we believe God to partner with a part-time Brazilian Missionary who would help manage and oversee our church planting ministry throughout Curitiba and Brazil. At a cost of $500 per month, they would be responsible for:
- Trip coordination
- Ministry preparation
- Ongoing oversight of our house church discipleship
